Motherlode Roundup, Sonora
What an amazing year I am having! It was such a pleasure to attend the Motherlode Roundup in Sonora, Ca. The first event I attended during my stay was Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Calcutta. The Calcutta is one of the primary fundraisers for the Round-up’s high school scholarship fund. At this event, people bid on teams that will be competing in the calf dressing. The night was a huge success and it was a pleasure to be a part of. The next morning I had the opportunity to ride in the parade and then the rodeo that afternoon. I loved being able to push cattle to help the performance run smoothly. The next day I was again able to ride in the rodeo and do my queen’s run. Announcer, Jody Carper, even asked me some questions on horse back in between some of the tie-down roping runs! I really want to thank the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse for being so inviting and friendly toward me during my time in Sonora. They became like family to me and I am so grateful to have been invited to the rodeo. The posse runs the whole rodeo and they do an excellent job!
