Miss Rodeo California Pageant 2019

Dear Prospective Contestant,

The Board of Directors of Miss Rodeo California, Inc. invites you to compete for the title of Miss Rodeo California 2019!

The pageant will be held in Lancaster, California, in conjunction with the California Circuit Finals Rodeo, October 2nd through October 6th, 2018.  Competition will include, but may not be limited to, the following categories: Horsemanship, Speech, Modeling, Personal & Horsemanship Interviews, Raffle Ticket Sales, Photogenic, Personality & Appearance.

To compete, Contestants must meet the eligibility requirements and execute the following documents available for download at missrodeocalifornia.com: 1) Application 2) Expectation Statement  & 3) Waiver Agreement.  Since these are legal documents you may wish to review them with your attorney prior to competing.  A copy of your birth certificate and a non-refundable entry fee of $325.00 must accompany your application packet.  Entry fee must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order made payable to Miss Rodeo California, Inc.  NO personal checks will be accepted.  Included in your entry fee are lodging, and all meals.  Also included is a full page, B/W Contestant ad in the MRC Official program.  Contestants are responsible for submitting their digital photograph to Program.missrodeocainc@gmail.com by August 15, 2018.

The Pageant will provide each contestant a hotel room for October 3rd through October 6th, 2018.  If you choose to arrive prior to October 3rd, you will be responsible for your own accommodations.  Our host hotel is the Hampton Inn and Suites, 2300 West Double Play Way, Lancaster, California 93536.  Family and Friends may make a reservation by calling (800) Hilton.

For Photogenic judging, please include with your application, a ready to frame 8” x 10” color photograph.  Photo is to be a headshot in western apparel, including hat.  No personal crown or sash is allowed.  Each contestant is also to submit a biography (hard copy) of approximately 100 words with their application.  Biography may include personal information, education, degrees, rodeo queen titles, hobbies or future plans.  NOTE: Photograph and biography must also be sent in digital format, via email to program.missrodeocainc@gmail.com by the application deadline date of July 29, 2018.  Please send bios typed in the body of the email and attach photo as a “jpg”.

Being Miss Rodeo California requires a full time commitment to representing the professional sport of rodeo and the Miss Rodeo California Pageant.  In addition to the time commitment, there is a financial commitment necessary to compete for the Miss Rodeo America title.  In the past, the new Miss Rodeo California has hosted a fundraiser in her local community to help with the MRA pageant expenses.  Please take these commitments into consideration in your decision to compete for the title of Miss Rodeo California.

Application packets must be postmarked by July 29, 2018 and include the following:  Completed application, signed Expectation Agreement and Waiver Agreement, certified copy of birth certificate, photograph, biography and entry fee.   If postmarked after July 29, 2018, your packet will be returned to you unopened.   You will be notified by email that your application packet has been received and is complete.
