Saturday morning I made the drive a few hours north to Tehachapi, California. This was my first time to this rodeo and I was expecting very hot weather, considering it was already in the low 90’s when I left Ramona that morning. Tehachapi was a beautiful 80 degrees with a little breeze and was perfect for the final performance of the rodeo.
They kicked off the rodeo by crowning the new royalty. Congratulations to Sierra Smith, Miss Tehachapi Rodeo 2010 – she will be a great ambassador for the rodeo! Miss Clovis Rodeo, Samantha Lozano, brought me her horse, Flo, to ride for the evening and I used her for the grand entry and to help clear the arena. This was first time Miss Rodeo California has attended the Tehachapi rodeo in some time and it was an honor to be there.
Thank you Marilyn Morphis for inviting me and letting me spend a great Saturday night at a first class rodeo!
